Request a Commission

Every space has its own rhythm, light, and story.

Gail Lehman accepts a limited number of commissions each year, collaborating with collectors, interior designers, architects, and businesses to create original paintings that are deeply connected to the spaces they inhabit.

Each commission begins with a conversation. Together, you'll explore the atmosphere you hope to create, the scale of the piece, the architectural setting, and the emotional response you want the artwork to evoke. Gail then develops an original composition that reflects both the environment and her distinctive abstract language.

Whether the painting is intended for a private residence, corporate office, hospitality project, or public space, every commission is created as a unique work of art.

The Commission Process

1. Initial Consultation

Share your vision, your space, preferred dimensions, timeline, and any inspiration for the project. You may also include photographs of your interior, architectural drawings, or design renderings, allowing Gail to better understand the character of the space and develop a painting that feels naturally connected to its environment

2. Concept Development

Gail develops the direction for the painting based on your space, architecture, and aesthetic goals.

3. Creation

The painting is created in Gail's Carmel be the Sea, CA studio using her intuitive, layered process.

4. Delivery

Once completed, the artwork is professionally prepared and shipped to its new home anywhere in the world.
